THERMOSAN
THERMOSAN is a macroporous one-component mortar based on cement, fibers and lightweight aggregates, specifically formulated to coat substrates affected by rising damp and condensation on cold walls.
Its high breathability and dehumidifying properties make THERMOSAN ideal for renovation projects, providing thermal insulation, excellent substrate adhesion and preventing salt efflorescence. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, it is suitable for masonry, concrete and other porous substrates, even when damp or located below ground level. THERMOSAN also acts as a sound-absorbing layer and supports thick coatings up to 5 cm in one application. It requires no bonding agents and offers long-lasting performance in harsh conditions.
Applications
- Treatment of walls and bases affected by rising damp or condensation caused by cold wall effects.
- Renovation of interior and exterior masonry, including basements and underground rooms.
- Prevention of salt efflorescence on brick and concrete substrates.
Advantages
- High water vapor permeability and self-ventilating structure.
- Excellent adhesion without primer or bonding agent.
- Provides thermal insulation and reduces cold wall effect.
- Resistant to salt crystallization and suitable for thick layer application.
- Sound-absorbing and breathable coating system.
Application method
Mix 25 kg of THERMOSAN with 4.5 to 5.0 liters of water using a mechanical mixer. Apply a bonding slurry coat and then trowel the mortar in layers of 2–5 cm thickness.
Consumption
Estimated consumption is 1.0 to 1.2 kg/m²·mm per layer, depending on substrate porosity and thickness applied (20–50 mm).
Presentation
THERMOSAN is supplied in 25 kg bags and available in standard grey color.
Precautions and safety
Wear gloves, safety goggles and protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes during mixing and application.
