MAXEPOX PASSIVE

MAXEPOX PASSIVE is a two-component mortar based on epoxy resins and cement, specifically designed for corrosion protection of reinforcement and as a bonding layer between concrete and repair mortars. Thanks to its formulation with corrosion inhibitors, MAXEPOX PASSIVE forms a passivating layer that neutralizes rust and prevents corrosion. It offers excellent adhesion on steel and concrete, even on damp surfaces, and is ideal for use in poorly ventilated areas due to its solvent-free composition and low odor. This high-performance coating is compatible with the MAXREST, MAXRITE and MAXGROUT systems, and ensures long-lasting durability in aggressive environments.

Applications

• Corrosion protection of reinforcement in bridges, maritime structures, pipelines, foundations and tanks.
• Preventive coating for reinforcements affected by carbonation, marine environments or de-icing salts.
• Bonding layer between old concrete and repair mortars in structural rehabilitation works.

Application Instructions

Pour component B into component A and mix at low speed until homogeneous. Apply by brush in one or two coats, depending on the intended use.

Consumption

Estimated coverage is 2.6 kg/m² in two coats for reinforcement protection and 1.5–2.0 kg/m² as a bonding layer.

Packaging

MAXEPOX PASSIVE is supplied in a 5 kg pre-dosed set: 1 kg of component A and 4 kg of component B.

Precautions and Safety

Use gloves, goggles and protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and do not inhale dust during application.
