Drizoro S.A.U., a Spanish manufacturer with over 45 years of experience in the construction chemicals industry, has obtained the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for various families within its catalog. The EPD is a method that quantifies the environmental impact of the product manufacturing processes.
The product lines where DRIZORO has obtained the EPD, verified and registered for 10 families with ENVIRONDEC, are:
-
-
- Waterproofing Systems: Cement-based mortars and resins with acrylic, epoxy, and polyurethane bases.
- Structural Repair Mortars: Products for reinforcement passivation and steel protection.
- Structural Reinforcement Systems: With carbon fiber.
- Pavement Protection Systems: Epoxy, polyurethane, and polyurethane-cement based.
- Roof Waterproofing Systems: With acrylic, polyurethane, and polyurea-based resins.
-
The EPD is based on the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) according to ISO 14040 and 14044 standards, developing specific calculation rules (PCR, EN 15804). It is a tool designed to quantify product sustainability, assessing from the raw materials that compose it, its performance during its service life, to its recycling or recovery at the end of its life cycle.
The EPD analysis includes parameters such as energy consumption, resource depletion, water consumption, solid waste generation, impact on climate change, atmospheric acidification, air and water pollution, ozone layer depletion, and photochemical ozone formation.
The EPD is aimed at companies or corporate groups looking to assess and improve the sustainability of their products. It allows identifying areas for potential environmental improvement and creating a more sustainable production system.
Drizoro, committed to creating high-quality products and cutting-edge technology, strives to respect the environment and sustainability. More than 20 years ago, the company implemented an integrated quality and environmental management system based on ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
